craftNEWYORK

Created as a showcase for some of our nation's most celebrated and internationally recognized craft artists, craftNEWYORK is produced each year by Artrider Productions Inc. as a benefit for CERF+.

The jury for the inaugural show in 2011 was Randall Darwall, fiber artist; Judy Gordon, founder of the American Craft Exposition; Hideaki Miyamura, potter; and Philip Weber, woodworker. Their selections of exhibitors for the show represent the highest quality, most original, and technically exceptional work produced in the United States today. Chief Curator at the Museum of Arts and Design, David Revere McFadden presented the Best in Show Award to wood artist, Jay Rogers and Best in Show Runner Up to paper artist Lucrezia Bieler.  Jurors for the 2012 show are: Elissa Ehlin, enamellist; Jean McLaughlin, Executive Director of Penland School of Crafts; Josh Simpson, glass blower; Brent Skidmore, furniture maker; and Lana Wilson, clay artist.

"craftNEWYORK brings together the finest in American craft in support of one of the most vital organizations - CERF+," notes Stacey Jarit, director of the show's producer, Artrider Productions Inc. Mark your calendars for the second annual craftNEWYORK on March 30 - April 1, 2012 at 7W, an intimate, gallery-like setting in Manhattan’s newest and most successful upscale event venue on 34th Street at 5th Avenue, across from the Empire State Building.
